Elon Musk has publicly refuted claims by President Donald Trump that he was aware of the contents of the recently passed “One Big Beautiful Bill,” a sweeping tax and spending package.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Musk stated:
“False, this bill was never shown to me even once and was passed in the dead of night so fast that almost no one in Congress could even read it!”
The dispute centers around the bill’s provisions, particularly the reduction of electric vehicle (EV) subsidies, which Musk has criticized as detrimental to the EV industry.
President Trump, in response, expressed disappointment in Musk’s stance, suggesting that Musk was upset due to the removal of EV mandates and subsidies.
The two figures previously collaborated on initiatives such as the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). The fallout has sparked discussions about the future of EV policies and the political dynamics influencing them.
