Interior Minister Appeals to People of Northern Region to Strive for Peace and Unity

Hon. Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka, the Interior Minister and Member of Parliament for Asawase in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, has appealed to the people of the Northern Region to strive for peace and unity.

The Interior Minister visited Muslim religious leaders and Zongo chiefs in Tamale, Northern Region, on Thursday, May 22, 2025.

As a matter of necessity and urgency within the region, Hon. Mubarak Muntaka called on the people of the Northern Region to set aside their differences and work together to promote peace and stability.

During his stakeholder engagement with Muslim religious leaders and Zongo chiefs, the Minister reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment and the government’s efforts to help sustain peace.

He stressed that peace and security must prevail in the region to enhance economic development and progress, noting that nothing better can thrive if conflict continues among the people.

The Northern Region is rich in potential. With unity and constructive conflict resolution mechanisms in place, its hardworking and God-fearing people can achieve great things, the Minister concluded.
