The Catholic Youth Organisation (CYO) of the Jamasi and Ejisu Deaneries gathered at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Asamang, in the Catholic Diocese of Konongo-Mampong for their annual jamboree under the theme “A Time To Proclaim Christ, Hope For The Church and Ghana.”
Delivering the keynote address, Senior Crusader Opoku Joe Andrew spoke passionately about the depth of the theme, urging young Catholics to embrace their mission as witnesses of Christ in all areas of life. He reminded them that proclaiming Christ must go beyond words and be expressed through actions rooted in faith, integrity, and selfless service.
He stressed that the youth are not only the future but also the living hope of the Church and Ghana today. “When the youth stand firmly in Christ, the Church is strengthened, and Ghana finds direction. You are the hope of the present, not just of tomorrow,” he declared, drawing strong applause from the gathering.

Snr. Crusader Opoku Joe Andrew further encouraged participants to see themselves as agents of transformation, called to bring light into their families, schools, communities, and workplaces. According to him, Ghana’s progress depends on young leaders who reflect Christ’s example of humility, sacrifice, and compassion.
He explained that proclaiming Christ means living out the values of honesty, kindness, and justice in everyday life. “Every act of truth-telling, every choice to forgive, and every step taken in love is a proclamation of Christ and a gift of hope to the nation,” he told the youth. His words challenged participants to live the theme beyond the jamboree.
The Senior Crusader also called on the CYO members (Crusaders) to remain steadfast in their Catholic identity while engaging positively with society. He reminded them that faith should not be confined to the church walls but must shine in the marketplace, classrooms, and public service.
Concluding his address, he reassured the youth that the Church believes in their potential and will continue to support their growth as leaders of faith and vision. His message left participants deeply inspired and strengthened in their commitment to carry the torch of Christ as hope for both the Church and Ghana.
