Thomas Partey will not be available for the Black Stars’ double-header against Sudan in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
The Arsenal midfielder is set to miss out due to medical issues he is currently facing, with his club scheduling further tests for him in the coming days.
According to reports, the captain of the Ghanaian Senior National Team has been advised to rest during the October international break to focus on his recovery. This decision is aimed at ensuring that Partey regains full fitness before returning to competitive action.
Although Coach Otto Addo had included Partey in the squad for the upcoming matches, which are set to take place on Thursday, October 10, 2024, and Tuesday, October 15, 2024, the midfielder’s condition has ruled him out of both fixtures. The Black Stars will be playing home and away against Sudan during these crucial AFCON qualifiers.
In Partey’s absence, Jordan Ayew is expected to take over the captaincy for both matches. Ayew, a seasoned player with considerable experience, will lead the team as they aim to secure victories against Sudan.
