Students, teachers, and community leaders unite in a vibrant display of sportsmanship, discipline, and educational spirit.
The spirit of teamwork, discipline, and community was beautifully displayed as the Bodomase Circuit of the Sekyere Kumawu District Education Directorate held its annual Inter-Schools Volleyball
and Soccer Competition for Under-13 (Primary) and Under-15 (JHS) categories.
The three-day event, hosted at Aninangya from Tuesday, 4th to Thursday, 6th November 2025, brought together schools, teachers, and residents in a vibrant celebration of talent and unity.
The host community, led by Nana Owusu Achaw Brempong, the Chief of Aninangya, and his elders, warmly welcomed all participants and spectators.
Their active involvement and hospitality transformed the competition into a festive occasion that showcased the strong bond between education and community support.
The colourful tournament saw the participation of both boys’ and girls’ teams across all levels, with enthusiastic crowds cheering them on. The event was graced by several key education officials, including the District Director of Education, Mr. Kwame Oduro-Owusu, alongside the District PRO, P.E. Coordinator, Examination Officer, IPPD Coordinator, and Mr. George Konadu, the Bodomase SISO. Their presence highlighted the importance of sports in promoting discipline and holistic education.
Teachers and Headteachers across the circuit turned out in their sportswear, creating a lively and united atmosphere.
The tireless efforts of sports teachers, who trained and mentored the players, were widely commended for nurturing discipline and teamwork among pupils.
The competition also became a platform for discovering new talents. Young referees impressed both officials and spectators with their professionalism.

Madam Esther Nyantakyi of Bodomase Methodist JHS stood out as an emerging female referee, while

Andy Pensang George, a level 300 student from Mampong Technical College of Education and a teacher of Iva international School in Bodomase drew applause for his exceptional officiating skills.
Adding to the excitement, Hon. Maxwell Doffuor the Assembly Member of Woraso Electoral Area and his team, together with the Bodomase Local GNAT Executive,
graced the event and demonstrated their support by donating bottled water and offering financial assistance to ensure the smooth running of the games. Their contribution was warmly appreciated by both participants and organizers.

At the closing ceremony, Mr. Armstrong Delwin Ohemeng the Chairman of the Bodomase Circuit Sports Organization on behalf of his committee members expressed deep gratitude to the Chief, elders, and people of Aninangya for hosting the successful event.

Mr. George Konadu, the SISO of Bodomase Circuit speaking on behalf of the District Director, commended the community for its support and praised teachers, the Sports Committee, and the Discipline Committee for their dedication and teamwork.

In a brief address by Aninangyahene, Nana Owusu Achaw Brempong thanked the Education Directorate, Bodomase Circuit and all participating schools for choosing Aninangya as the host venue. He encouraged students to balance academics with sports and called on parents to actively support their wards in developing their talents.
The competition ended with smiles and celebrations as winners received trophies and certificates.
Bodomase Presby Primary School (Boys) and Aninangya Methodist Primary School (Girls) emerged victorious in the Under-13 Volleyball category. In the Under-15 division, Bodomase D/A JHS swept both boys’ and girls’ volleyball titles. For soccer, Aninangya Methodist Primary School claimed both Under-13 titles, while Woraso D/A JHS (Boys) and Bodomase Methodist JHS (Girls) took home the Under-15 trophies.
The event not only celebrated sporting excellence but also strengthened community bonds, leaving lasting memories of teamwork, friendship, and promise among the young athletes of Bodomase Circuit.
