The Sekyere Kumawu Education Directorate has successfully organized a two-day Capacity-Building Workshop for Basic School Headteachers, aimed at enhancing their leadership, management, and administrative skills. The workshop was strategically scheduled at two different venues to accommodate participants from various circuits within the district.

The first day of the workshop was held at Oyoko Methodist Church on Thursday, February 12, 2026, specifically for Headteachers from Banko and Dadease Circuits. The sessions on this day focused on equipping participants with practical strategies for effective school management, time management, and academic leadership. Participants engaged actively in discussions and exercises designed to strengthen their roles as the chief executives of their schools.

The second day of the workshop took place at Kumawu Presbyterian Church on Friday, February 13, 2026. This session brought together Headteachers from Kumawu West and East Circuits, Bodomase, and Besoro Circuits. The focus remained on building the capacity of Headteachers in key areas of school administration, including communication, relationship management, record-keeping, and accurate data submission.

The workshop was officially opened by the District Director of Education, Mr. Kwame Oduro-Owusu, who warmly welcomed all participants and emphasized the importance of active participation. In his address, he encouraged Headteachers to ask questions freely and seek clarifications whenever necessary, highlighting that their roles as school CEOs require continuous learning and professional development.

The facilitators for the workshop included experienced education professionals such as Mr. Ebenezer Offeh, Head of the Human Resource and Management Department; Mr. Owusu Kwarteng, Head of Finance and Administration; Mr. Peter Anyemadu, SISO for Kumawu West; and Madam Cynthia Ackom, District Public Relations Officer, among others. Each facilitator brought unique expertise to the sessions, ensuring a comprehensive training experience for all participants.

Key topics covered during the workshop included Effective Headteacher and Time Management, Academic, Administrative and Financial Records, Communication and School Relationships, and Data Submission. The sessions combined theoretical knowledge with practical exercises, enabling Headteachers to apply the learning directly to their schools.

Overall, the two-day workshop provided the Headteachers with valuable insights and tools to enhance school management, improve student outcomes, and foster positive relationships within their educational communities.
