Randy Boakye Yiadom Lifts Kumawu into Quarter Finals of Otumfuo Challenge

Kumawu has advanced to the Quarter Finals of the Otumfuo Community Reading Challenge after an intense contest in the Round of 40.

Represented by Randy Boakye Yiadom, a student of Bodomase St. Stephen R.C. Junior High School, Kumawu secured a remarkable victory with 94.9 points, triumphing over Jacobu, represented by Juliet Oppong Fosuaa, who earned an admirable 93.1 points.

The contest was closely fought, with both contestants demonstrating confidence, fluency, and strong reading skills that captivated the audience until the final announcement of scores.

In recognition of this achievement, Mr. Kwame Oduro Owusu (District Director of Education) for Sekyere Kumawu, together with Education Officers, Barima Sarfo Tweneboa Kodua (Kumawumanhene) and Nananom, District Coordinators and Trainers, SISO of Bodomase Circuit, Teachers, as well as staff and students of Bodomase St. Stephen R.C. JHS, joined in celebration of Kumawu’s qualification.

This milestone highlights the district’s commitment to promoting literacy and academic excellence among its students, while also reflecting the collective efforts of educators, traditional authorities, and the wider community.

With this victory, Kumawu advances to the Quarter Finals, sustaining its prospects of achieving greater success in the competition.

Organisers of the challenge commended both contestants for their dedication, sportsmanship, and resilience, emphasising that the competition continues to nurture a culture of reading among the youth in Ghana.
