Prof. Jane Celebrates Bakatue Festival with the People of Elmina in the Central Region of Ghana

Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), was honored to celebrate the Bakatue Festival with the people of Elmina in the Central Region of Ghana. This festival, steeped in history and cultural significance, marks the opening of the fishing season in Elmina and is celebrated with various traditional activities and rituals.

Professor Opoku-Agyemang attended the Edina Bakatue Festival on behalf of the flagbearer and leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, as a Special Guest of Honor.

The Bakatue Festival saw a vibrant turnout, with the Edina Traditional Council, the Edina Asafo companies, Hon. Samuel Atta-Mills – the Member of Parliament for Komenda Edina Eguafo Abirem Constituency and the good people of Elmina coming together to celebrate. The atmosphere was filled with joy and unity as the community showcased their rich cultural heritage and celebrated their achievements both as a community and as individuals.

During the festival, Professor Opoku-Agyemang delivered a heartfelt address, emphasizing the importance of the Bakatue Festival as a unifying event.
