As part of fulfilling a campaign promise made before the 2024 general elections in Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama has announced plans to introduce a tertiary education scholarship scheme for children of cocoa farmers.
This announcement was made public in a post shared on the official Facebook page of Hon. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, Minister for Finance.
According to the statement, the Finance Minister indicated that COCOBOD has been tasked to develop modalities and implement the Cocoa Tertiary Scholarship Scheme within the 2025/26 season.
He further emphasized that the implementation of the scheme for children of cocoa farmers will take effect from the 2026/27 academic year.
