President Mahama Swears In Matilda Asante-Asiedu as 2nd Deputy Governor of Bank of Ghana

President John Dramani Mahama has sworn in Mrs. Matilda Asante-Asiedu as the Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Jubilee House in Accra, where President Mahama congratulated Mrs. Asante-Asiedu on her appointment and expressed confidence in her ability to strengthen the country’s monetary and financial stability.

Mrs. Asante-Asiedu brings over three decades of experience in banking and financial services, having held senior roles at Standard Chartered Bank and served as a respected voice in corporate governance and risk management.

Her appointment forms part of the President’s broader strategy to enhance the leadership and institutional integrity of the central bank as Ghana continues its economic reset agenda.

The new Second Deputy Governor is expected to support reforms in the banking sector, promote financial inclusion, and contribute to restoring confidence in the Bank of Ghana’s operations.
