President Mahama Submits Three (3) Petitions for the Removal of the Chief to the Council of State

Chief Justice Petitioned for Removal from Office

H.E. John Dramani Mahama, the President of the Republic of Ghana, has submitted petitions received for the removal of Justice Gertrude Torkornoo, Ghana’s Chief Justice.

According to the release letter, the President has received three (3) petitions from various individuals seeking the removal of the Chief Justice.

The President has therefore forwarded the three (3) petitions to the Council of State to commence the consultation process mandated by Article 146 of the 1992 Constitution.
