H.E. John Dramani Mahama, the President of Ghana, has nominated 40 Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in accordance with Article 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20(1) of the Local Governance Act, 2017 (Act 940), as amended.
A statement issued on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, announced the nomination of 40 MMDCEs for the Ashanti Region.
The release indicated that the nominated individuals are subject to approval by the respective local assemblies.
