The Parliament of Ghana has published the names of 28 Members of Parliament (MPs) who repeatedly absented themselves from sittings without permission during the first quarter of 2025.
The Parliamentary Attendance Audit, which covered 43 sittings from January to March 2025, revealed that several legislators recorded significant unauthorised absences, with some missing more than 20 sessions.
The list of the 28 MPs, alongside the number of sitting days they were absent without official leave or permission, is provided below:
- Frempong, Joseph (Nkawkaw) – 22 days
- Forson, Cassiel Ato Baah (Dr) (Ajumako/Enyan/Essiam) – 17 days
- Armah, Blay Nyameke (Sekondi) – 16 days
- Ablakwa, Samuel Okudzeto (North Tongu) – 14 days
- Afriyie, Nana Ayew (Dr) (Effiduase/Asokore) – 14 days
- Boateng, Kwabena (Ejisu) – 13 days
- Pelpuo, Abdul-Rashid Hassan (Dr) (Wa Central) – 13 days
- Anim, Ernest Yaw (Kumawu) – 11 days
- Jinapor, John Abdulai (Yapei Kusawgu) – 11 days
- Kwarteng, Kwaku Agyeman (Obuasi West) – 11 days
- Akandoh, Kwabena Mintah (Juaboso) – 10 days
- Ampaabeng Kyeremeh, Simon (Berekum East) – 10 days
- Darko-Mensah, Kwabena Okyere (Takoradi) – 10 days
- Ibrahim, Ahmed (Banda) – 10 days
- Adams, Abdul-Salam (New Edubiase) – 10 days

The publication by the Parliamentary Service is expected to draw the attention of MPs to the need for stricter enforcement of attendance rules and the application of sanctions for absenteeism, as provided under Article 97(1)(c) of the 1992 Constitution and Parliament’s Standing Orders.
