The Kumawu Traditional Council, under the leadership of Barima Sarfo Tweneboa Kodua, has directed residents to participate in a clean-up exercise ahead of the funeral of the late Barima Asumadu Sakyi II, the Kumawumanhene.

The clean-up took place on Saturday, October 12, 2024, as part of preparations for the final funeral rites scheduled for Saturday, October 19, 2024.
The exercise involved the cleaning of rubbish and the clearing of weeds, covering areas from the Kumawu Station through Akyerema Palace to the Kumawu Anglican School, where the funeral will officially take place. Residents from all walks of life, both young and old, showed great patriotism by actively participating in the event.

It is important to note that students from Tweneboa Kodua Senior High School also offered their support to the clean-up exercise. Their involvement demonstrated a strong sense of community and responsibility, especially among the younger generation.
The event, which started at 6:30 a.m, witnessed a significant turnout, with the residents showing immense dedication and readiness to ensure that the town is in a clean and presentable state for the funeral.
The level of commitment and the positive response from the people reflected their deep respect for the late Barima Asumadu Sakyi II and their willingness to contribute to the preparations for his final farewell and pay their last respects to their revered leader.
