Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Kumawu Constituency, in collaboration with the Sekyere Kumawu Education Directorate, has organised a career guidance and orientation programme for candidates preparing to sit for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
The programme was held on Friday, May 30, 2025, across six different venues within the district. The sessions were designed to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to make informed decisions regarding their academic and career paths.

Topics discussed during the programme included career guidance, effective preparation for examinations, and examination modalities, specifically focusing on the dos and don’ts during the exams. The sessions aimed to build the students’ confidence and ensure they are well-prepared for the upcoming BECE.
In his address to the candidates, Hon. Yaw Anim emphasised the importance of the programme and urged the students to pay close attention to every detail shared with them. He highlighted the critical role of proper school selection in shaping the future of the candidates and encouraged both students and their parents or guardians to seek guidance on the school selection process before the actual exercise begins.
According to Hon. Anim, many students in the past have missed out on their preferred schools due to poor choices made during the selection period. Therefore, he stressed the need for early preparation and informed decision-making.
The resource persons leading the sessions demonstrated confidence and mastery of the subjects discussed. They provided practical insights, shared personal experiences, and answered all questions raised by the students, leaving the participants satisfied and better informed.

The MP also donated mathematical set for all the candidates as part of programme.
Hon. Anim expressed optimism that the programme would yield positive results in the future, particularly by helping students to make the right career choices and excel in their BECE. He commended the Sekyere Kumawu Education Directorate for their dedication and support in organising the programme and encouraged the students to remain focused and determined in their studies.
