Ghanaian Kumawood icon Matilda Asare celebrated a proud academic milestone on June 27, 2025, as she graduated from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) with a Master of Science in Management and Human Resource Strategic.
In a widely shared post on her Facebook and Instagram, the actress shared her heartfelt journey detailing how she resumed studies after earning her bachelor’s degree in 2011 from Baptist University College. She said juggling filmmaking, raising children, and coursework forced her to take breaks. But her passion for learning and growth never waned.
Asare revealed she pursued this advanced degree to deepen her knowledge ahead of a full transition into film production, noting that strategic management and HR skills were instrumental for her upcoming roles behind the camera.
Among those cheering her on at the KNUST ceremony were fellow industry figures like Apostle John Prah and Barbie Yankson. Proudest in her green academic gown, Matilda complemented her look with the vibrant traditional Kente cloth celebrating her heritage and achievement in one radiant ensemble.
Matilda joins a growing list of Ghanaian entertainers like Van Vicker, Jackie Appiah, Samini, and Amerado who are reaffirming the value of lifelong learning by combining creative careers with academic achievements.
Her academic success also mirrors national initiatives aimed at empowering professionals across sectors particularly through advanced training in leadership, digital literacy, and organizational development.
