Kumasi Based Tiktoker, Osanju Elvis Frimpong Dies of Leukemia

OSANJU DIES

The TikTok community is in mourning following the untimely passing of Elvis Frimpong, better known as Osanju. The beloved content creator, who amassed over a million followers for his infectious humor and candid storytelling, died quietly in the early hours of Monday, September 1, 2025 according to close friend. Some reports suggest he slipped away late on Sunday, August 31, sparking slight discrepancies in timing, but all agree that his departure occurred upon arrival at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).

Osanju had been open about his harrowing battle with leukemia, a form of blood cancer he publicly revealed in the summer of 2023. He used his social media platform not just for laughs, but to share the financial and emotional toll of his health struggles. In April 2025, he posted distressing updates about blood clotting and bruising with vivid signs that the disease was worsening and disrupting his daily life.

In the days leading up to his passing, he complained of excruciating headaches, which prompted concerned friends and family to rush him to KATH. Tragically, he did not recover.

His final posts were deeply human as he shared a video reacting to Barcelona’s draw with Rayo Vallecano in La Liga just hours before his death surfaced online, blending everyday commentary with his brave fight against illness.

His passing comes only months after he laid his mother, Veronica “Amonu” Frimpong, to rest as an ordeal he had also shared openly, further endearing him to fans who admired his resilience and authenticity.

The announcement of his death was made by close friend and collaborator Ama Yeboah, who shared a touching tribute video: “I don’t know what to say because you left us all shocked,” she wrote. “Your memory will forever be a guiding light…though the pain of losing you is heavy, the love you left behind will always remain”.

In the wake of his passing, fans and fellow creators have turned to social media to express shock, grief, and admiration for his vulnerability and humor. Many recall how he turned pain into connection with a reminder of the power of storytelling.
