The Government Accountability Series (GAS) officially began today, Monday, 13th July 2025, with the Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, delivering the first presentation at the Presidency.
The session, hosted by Hon. Kwakye Ofosu, Minister in charge of Government Communication, marks the first in a new weekly forum aimed at deepening transparency and providing citizens with regular performance updates from key ministries.

Hon. Muntaka used the platform to provide a detailed account of his stewardship over the past six months, touching on a wide range of security and governance issues under his ministry’s purview.
Among the major issues addressed were:
- The law governing the ownership and handling of arms and ammunition
- An update on the Bawku security situation, where two police officers were recently shot
- Recruitment process into the various Security Services
- Reports on election-related violence, including the recent incident involving Hon. Hawa Koomson
- Achievements recorded by the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana National Fire Service, and Ghana Immigration Service
His presentation emphasized the ministry’s commitment to public safety, law enforcement reforms, and conflict resolution.
