Lil Win has Slammed Daddy Lumba Memorial Committee Over Date Clash With His Movie Premiere
The popular Kumawood actor and producer Kwadwo Nkansah, widely known as Lil Win, has publicly expressed his frustration with the committee organizing the upcoming candlelight vigil in honour of the late Daddy Lumba, which is scheduled to take place on August 2, 2025, at Independence Square.

The Fosu family, together with a planning committee, announced the date for the vigil to celebrate the life and legacy of the legendary highlife musician Daddy Lumba.
However, Lil Win, who has heavily invested in the premiere of his much-anticipated movie titled Ibrahim Traore – also slated for August 2 – believes the committee’s decision to fix the vigil on the same day was deliberate and malicious.
“For the committee to set the Candle Night for Daddy Lumba on the 2nd of August is an act of callousness. I have never encountered such a level of wickedness in my entire life,”
Lil Win said in an emotional outburst
He disclosed that nearly people “polluted Daddy Lumba’s mind” not to feature in the movie while he was alive, and now he has already poured nearly one million dollars into the organization of the premiere, and the overlapping dates could severely impact attendance and publicity.
“What they have done to me, I leave them to God Almighty. A lot of previous events already slowed us down—Agradaa’s arrest, Kudu’s issues, Thomas Partey’s court case. May God himself deal with the committee that set this date,”
Lil Win added
Lil Win described the situation as a targeted attempt to undermine his project and vowed to leave the matter in God’s hands, calling on divine justice against those he believes have wronged him this bad.
The committee has however not made any comment on this nor responded publicly to the accusations.
