How to Visit the Parliament of Ghana as a Group, Institution, or Organization

The Parliament of Ghana is open to visitors all year-round, from Monday to Friday, for groups, institutions, or organizations.

Individual Visitors to Ghana’s Parliament:
Individuals may observe proceedings from the public gallery, which is open from Tuesday to Friday when the House is in session. No advance permission is needed. Visitors must bring a valid ID (Passport, Ghana Card, etc.) and pass security screening to enter.

Group, Institution, or Organizational Visits to Ghana’s Parliament:
Groups, institution or organizational tours must submit a written request to the Director of Public Engagement or complete the Online Application Form (https://www.parliament.gh/visit). Adequate parking is available at the main entrance.

Rules for Observing Proceedings:

  • Visitors may observe only and must not disrupt proceedings with loud commentary, clapping, or demonstrations.
  • Photography is prohibited without permission. All packages, electronic devices, and recording equipment must be checked in. Phones must be switched off.
  • Visitors must follow instructions from the Speaker or security personnel and avoid any actions that could interrupt the session.
  • Non-compliance may lead to removal from the gallery and possible police involvement.
  • Formal attire is required, reflecting the dignity of the House.
  • Visitors must stand whenever the Speaker’s procession enters or leaves the chamber.
