Ghanaians no longer need a visa to travel to Morocco. This is a new agreement between the two countries. The announcement was made by Ghana’s Foreign Minister and Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.

The new travel policy, which takes effect immediately, means Ghanaian passport holders will only need to complete a simple online travel authorization, which will be processed within 24 hours. No in-person embassy appointments or traditional visas will be required.

The visa waiver agreement was reached during Hon. Ablakwa’s official working visit to Morocco, where he met with the country’s Foreign Minister, H.E. Nasser Bourita.

According to Hon. Ablakwa, the policy is expected to boost trade, tourism, and cultural exchange between Ghana and Morocco.

This arrangement will also encourage stronger business and diplomatic ties between the two African nations.

“With existing direct flights between Ghana and Morocco—and more expected to be added—this agreement will make it easier for our people to connect, trade, and explore,”

– Hon. Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa

He described the move as a victory for pan-African cooperation, saying Africa’s borders should not divide its people but instead serve as bridges for development.

Is this development going to bring excitement to many Ghanaians who are looking to travel outside the country for pleasure, education and business opportunities in North Africa?
