The Majority Leader, Hon. Mahama Ayariga, has stated that Parliament will sit on Mondays and Saturdays beginning Monday, 7th July 2025.
In his statement, he explained that the additional sittings are intended to allow for the maturity of certain Legislative Instruments before Parliament adjourns sine die.
Hon. Mahama Ayariga, who also serves as Chairman of the Business Committee, stated that fifty-five (55) Ministers and the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Johnson Pandit Asiama, are expected to appear before the House to respond to questions during the week.
He added that some Bills may be introduced for First Reading, and those of an urgent nature may be taken through the various stages in a single day, in accordance with Standing Order 160. He also noted that Papers may be laid during the week and reports from committees will be presented to the House for consideration.
These, among other business items, have necessitated the additional sittings, Hon. Ayariga concluded.
