The Ghana Education Service (GES) has issued a press release informing the general public about the nationwide distribution of sanitary pads to Public Basic Schools and Senior High Schools.
The letter referenced Letter No. MOE FPMU/SP/001/25 from the Honourable Minister for Education concerning the supply and delivery of the sanitary pads.
In the letter, GES management shared that His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, has pledged to provide sanitary pads to adolescent students in all Public Basic and Senior High Schools within the first one hundred and twenty (120) days of assuming office.
It was also emphasized that His Excellency directed that the sanitary pads be manufactured and procured locally in Ghana. In response, the Ministry of Education promptly engaged four (4) suppliers, as indicated below.

The letter further urged Regional Directors to make the necessary arrangements to receive the items and distribute them to schools within their respective regions.
A schedule for the distribution was also attached to the letter.
Accoding to the letter, a date for the official launch of the distribution will be announced in due course.
