The Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced a mid-term break for all basic schools across Ghana. The break is scheduled to take place from Monday, March 9 to Tuesday, March 10, 2026.
According to the announcement, the two-day break applies to all public basic schools nationwide. It is expected that both teachers and students will use this period to rest after several weeks of academic work. The mid-term break forms part of the academic calendar designed to promote effective teaching and learning while also supporting the well-being of both staff and learners.
All basic schools are therefore required to observe the break accordingly.
Academic activities are expected to fully resume on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, when students and teachers return to continue the term’s work as scheduled.
