Nigerian cyclist, Ese Lovina Ukpeseraye has expressed gratitude to the German team for lending her a bicycle to compete in the 2024 Olympics, as Nigeria didn’t provide one.
Ese Ukpeseraye took to twitter to thank the German Team for extending the kind gesture to her when she needed it most.
Germany had to give Nigerian Athlete, Ese Ukpeseraye a track bike to race with at the just ended sports mondial; the 2024 Olympics held in Paris, France. According to the Athlete, she was called late for the Keirin and Sprint events and as a result she went into the event not only without adequate training but also a bicycle to race with. Team Nigeria had not bicycle to use on the tracks.
It is worthy of note that Ese Ukpeseraye won Gold medal at the African Road Championships.
Ese described the gesture by the German Team as an act in the done ‘in the spirit of sportsmanship’.
