David Beckham Honoured The Title ” Sir” by the Prince Charles III

SIR DAVID BECHAM

David Beckham has been officially knighted by King Charles III at a formal investiture ceremony held at Windsor Castle.  The 50-year-old football icon was recognised for his “outstanding services to sport and charity.”  The former England captain called the honour his “proudest moment,” saying it “means more than any of my career accolades.”  Beckham received the knighthood after being named in the King’s Birthday Honours list earlier this year.

He attended the ceremony alongside his wife, Victoria Beckham, who designed his suit and now becomes Lady Beckham as well as his parents, Ted and Sandra Beckham.  During a warm moment, King Charles and Beckham shared light banter as the king apparently complimented his tailored suit.  Beckham openly wept when he first learned of the honour, calling it deeply emotional and significant for his family.  Beyond football, he has been a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador since 2005.  He has also worked with The King’s Foundation especially to promote charity projects focused on youth and nature.  His legendary playing career included spells at Manchester United, Real Madrid, LA Galaxy, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain, and 115 caps for England.

Now officially Sir David Beckham, he joked he wouldn’t mind if his children called him “Sir Dad.”  For a boy from East London, he said, being knighted at Windsor Castle is “beyond what I ever thought possible.”
