Catholic Diocese of Konongo- Mampong Mourns Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Opoku Gyedu

The Catholic Diocese of Konongo-Mampong has announced the passing of Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Opoku Gyedu, a beloved priest and servant of the Church, who died peacefully on Tuesday, 3 June 2025, at the Pope John Paul Medical Centre in Jamasi. He was 62 years old.

Rev. Fr. Gyedu was ordained into the priesthood in 2007 and served the diocese with humility and unwavering faith. His passing was announced by the Office of the Vicar General, which expressed profound sorrow and faith in the promise of the resurrection.

“Please pray for the repose in the Lord of the soul of our dear brother and priest, Fr. Gyedu, and for the consolation of the many grieving his loss, especially his immediate family,” the statement read.

Funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course by the Diocesan Secretariat.

Fr. Gyedu is remembered for his pastoral care, devotion to prayer, and his role in guiding many parishioners and communities through their spiritual journeys.
