The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially announced the departure of Otto Addo as Head Coach of the senior national team, the Ghana Black Stars, with immediate effect.
In a statement released via its official communication website, the GFA expressed appreciation for Otto Addo’s service and contribution to the team, wishing him success in his future endeavours.
The decision comes in the wake of two consecutive defeats suffered by the Black Stars during the international break; first against Austria and then a 2–1 loss to Germany on Monday, March 30.
The defeat to Germany, played shortly before the announcement, appears to have been a decisive factor in the Association’s move, as concerns mounted over the team’s recent performances.
While the GFA has not yet named a replacement, it indicated that a new technical direction for the Black Stars will be communicated in due course.
Otto Addo, who previously led Ghana to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, exits at a time when expectations remain high for the national team to regain its competitive edge on the international stage.
