The town of Bodomase came alive as teachers, students, alumni, and community members gathered to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Bodomase D/A Junior High School, a school that has shaped generations and stood as a symbol of hope and progress in the Sekyere-Kumawu District.
Established in 1955 through the visionary leadership of Bodomasehene, and his elders, the school has evolved from modest beginnings into one of the most respected institutions in the district. For seven decades, it has nurtured talents and contributed significantly to the human resource base of Ghana.

Speaking on behalf of the District Director of Education, Mr. Kwame Oduro-Owusu, the Head of Monitoring and Supervision, Mr. Nana Kwame Obeng Frimpong, expressed profound gratitude to the founding fathers of the school.


He commended the Headmaster, Mr. Abdul Latif, the dedicated teachers, and the pupils for maintaining high academic standards and discipline. He also urged parents to take an active role in their children’s education, describing it as the greatest legacy one can offer.


The celebration was filled with cultural splendour and youthful enthusiasm. Poetry recitals, traditional Adowa and Kete dances, and a well-executed cadet display showcased the talents of the students and added colour to the day. The energy and unity displayed reflected the true spirit of Bodomase.

In a message delivered during the event, Mr. George Konadu, SISO for Bodomase Circuit, lauded the teachers for their exceptional work and noted with pride that the winner of the Otumfuo Community Reading Challenge is a students in Bodomase which reaffirms the positive results of dedicated teachers in Bodomase community. He encouraged continued support from Nananom and parents.

The School Management Committee (SMC) Chairman used the occasion to appeal to stakeholders, including old students and the larger community, to help the school address its infrastructure challenges. He highlighted the urgent need for a proper toilet facility, a urinal, a school library, and a computer laboratory to enhance teaching and learning.

Representing the Bodomasehene, Nana Selah Afriyie (Andorrahene) and Nana Kwame Nimako (Nponuahene) reiterated the community’s unwavering commitment to education. They proudly noted that the current Member of Parliament, District Chief Executive, and Presiding Member all hail from Bodomase, a clear indication of the school’s impact on leadership development. They urged students to remain focused and disciplined, and called on parents to invest wholeheartedly in the future of their children.

The celebration also honoured past headmasters whose leadership helped build the school’s legacy. They were each presented with citations in recognition of their sacrifices, commitment, and the lasting impact they have made on the school and the community at large.
