In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Thursday, 7th August, 2025, Dr Amoakohene confirmed the retrieval of the device, which is expected to play a crucial role in ongoing investigations into the tragic incident.

The Black Box, which contains flight data and cockpit voice recordings, is designed to provide investigators with critical insights into the final moments of the aircraft’s operation. Authorities hope it will help determine the exact cause of the crash.

The helicopter went down in Adansi Wednesday, August 6, 2025 claiming the lives of eight Ghanaians on board, including high-profile public figures. The nation continues to mourn the sudden and profound loss.

Dr Amoakohene reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring a transparent and thorough investigation, noting that the recovered flight recorder will be analysed by aviation experts in the coming days.

A book of condolences has been opened at the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (ARCC) in honour of the deceased, as families and the general public continue to pay their respects.
