The Ashanti Regional Qualifiers for the 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) will officially begin on Monday, 21st July, and conclude on Saturday, 26th July, organisers have confirmed.
The balloting for the highly anticipated contests was conducted on Wednesday, 25th June, setting the stage for intense academic competition among the region’s top senior high schools.
The qualifiers will feature over 100 schools competing for a limited number of slots to advance to the national championship. The Ashanti Region, known for producing past NSMQ champions such as Prempeh College and Opoku Ware School, is expected to witness another fierce round of contests this year.
Held annually, the NSMQ continues to promote excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), while encouraging teamwork and intellectual discipline among Ghanaian students.
A regional coordinator shared confidence in this year’s contests:
Ashanti-Region-NSMQ1“The NSMQ regional qualifiers help shape academic discipline, confidence, and teamwork in students—beyond the contest itself.”
Winners from the Ashanti Region will join qualifying schools from Ghana’s other fifteen regions to compete in the national tournament later this year.
