The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene joined family, chiefs, and residents to mourn the passing of his paternal grandmother, the mother of Nana Drobonsohene, Otumfuo Brempong.
Dr. Amoakohene, visibly emotional yet composed, paid his last respects to the woman he described as “impactful” and deeply revered. The event brought together elders of the Drobonso community, family members, and political stakeholders.

Speaking after the gathering, Dr. Amoakohene took the opportunity to update the traditional leaders and community members on some significant developments within the Sekyere Afram Plains District. He mentioned the following:
Road Interventions: Major road improvement works sanctioned by President John Dramani Mahama are currently underway, aimed at opening up key parts of the district to promote economic activities and improve access.
District Hospital Operationalization: Efforts are at an advanced stage to fully operationalize the Drobonso District Hospital to provide critical healthcare services to residents.
Completion of E-Block Project: The government’s commitment to completing the long-abandoned Community Day Senior High School (E-Block), which has stood idle for years despite public outcry.
“We are not just here to mourn; we are also here to commit ourselves to the future. Together, with Otumfuo Brempong and other traditional leaders, we will push for every abandoned and delayed project to be completed,”

Dr. Amoakohene reiterated the Regional Coordinating Council’s collaboration with traditional authorities to ensure that development projects reflect the needs of the people.
