The Minister for Trade and Industry, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has joined forces with the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has engaged trade unions at the Suame Magazine. The engagement mainly bothered on President John Mahama’s decision to repeal the law on salvaged vehicles.
This move in an indication that the NDC government is ready to show Ghanaians that it is committed in protecting local businesses and preserving jobs in Ghana’s automobile industry.








The discussions also covered pressing concerns, including the long-standing demand for a Vehicle Village, challenges with the flat rate system, and import duties that affect traders and artisans.
The trade minister on behalf of government assured the traders that their voices will be heard in shaping policies that foster business growth and economic empowerment.
With Suame Magazine being a major industrial hub, stakeholders are optimistic that ongoing engagements is a signpost of some positive solutions.
