Honourable Haruna Iddrisu, the Education Minister for Ghana, has inaugurated an eight-member committee appointed by President John Dramani Mahama to oversee the organization of the National Education Forum.

The forum aims to foster dialogue on critical issues in the education sector and develop strategic policies to enhance learning outcomes nationwide.

The inauguration ceremony took place in Accra on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, and was attended by key stakeholders in the education sector. Among those present were Prof. Ernest Kofi Davis, the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), and Mr. Stephen Kwaku Owusu, the Deputy Director-General in charge of Management Services, who also serves as a member of the committee. Other attendees included divisional directors, unit heads of GES, and representatives from educational institutions.

The National Education Forum is expected to provide a platform for in-depth discussions on education policies, challenges, and opportunities. It will focus on ensuring quality education, improving accessibility, and addressing key reforms needed to strengthen Ghana’s education system.

The committee will work collaboratively with stakeholders to formulate recommendations that align with national development goals.
