Hon. Dr. Frank Amoakohene, the Ashanti Regional Minister, has paid a courtesy visit to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace.
The visit came after his swearing-in ceremony at the Jubilee House on Thursday, January 30, 2025. The visit served as an opportunity for the newly appointed Regional Minister to formally introduce himself to the Asantehene and seek his counsel and blessings as he assumes office.
Dr. Amoakohene was accompanied by a high-ranked officials, including the Regional Coordinating Council Chief Director, Mr. Michael Owusu Amoako, the General Officer Commanding Central Command, Brigadier General Michael Opoku, and the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Mr. Frank Abrokwa, among others.
During the visit, Dr. Amoakohene expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for his steadfast support and wise leadership, which have greatly contributed to the progress of the Ashanti Region. He acknowledged the pivotal role of the Asantehene in fostering unity, development, and cultural preservation, adding that he looks forward to working closely with the Asante traditional authorities.
The Regional Minister assured the Asantehene of his dedication to discharging his mandate with diligence, integrity, and humility. He emphasized that his administration would prioritize policies and projects aimed at improving the livelihoods of the people of the Ashanti Region. Dr. Amoakohene reaffirmed his commitment to collaborating with stakeholders across various sectors, including traditional leaders, government agencies, and the private sector, to accelerate development in the region.
He assured the Asantehene that H.E. John Dramani Mahama is committed to making the Ashanti Region a better place for all. He noted that the region remains a crucial pillar in Ghana’s socio-economic development and pledged to ensure that it receives the necessary attention and resources to enhance its growth.
Dr. Amoakohene also reiterated his resolve to continue and build upon the developmental projects initiated by his predecessors. He assured Otumfuo Osei Tutu II that ongoing infrastructural developments, education, health, and economic initiatives would be sustained and improved to benefit the people of Asanteman.
The Asantehene, in turn, welcomed the new Regional Minister and advised him to remain steadfast in his duties while upholding the values of transparency and service to the people. He expressed his hope that Dr. Amoakohene would work diligently to leave a lasting impact on the region.
The visit concluded with the Asantehene offering his blessings and words of encouragement to the newly appointed Regional Minister, urging him to work towards the collective prosperity of the Ashanti Region.
