President Mahama has appointed former Interior Minister, Prosper Douglas Bani, as his National Security Advisor.

Other appointments made by the President include Charles Kipo as the Director-General of the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) and Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Abdul Osman-Razak as the National Security Coordinator.

It is important to note that Kofi Boakye and Prosper Bani were part of the President’s temporary six-man security coordinating team before his official swearing-in. Retired Commissioner of Police (COP) Nathan Kofi Boakye has also been appointed by President John Mahama as the Director of Security Operations at the Presidency.

According to the release, these key appointments in the National Security Services by the President are part of his commitment to ensuring national security and the general safety of all Ghanaians.
