Ghanaian broadcaster Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah has announced his resignation as the Morning Show Host of Angel Broadcasting Network (ABN), effective January 8, 2025. In a statement shared on social media, Afrifa Mensah cited differences in interests between the management of the company and ‘himself’ as the reason for his departure.
Afrifa Mensah expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve both ABN and the Ghanaian public as he reiterated “I am grateful for the opportunity to serve ABN and the Ghanaian public.” He also assured his fans and family that he would announce his next move soon. Prior to his resignation, there were rumors in December 2024 that Afrifa Mensah had been dismissed from Angel TV due to internal disagreements though neither he nor ABN officially confirmed these reports.
Known for his direct approach on the morning show “Anɔpa Bɔfoɔ,” Afrifa-Mensah has often sparked controversies. His comments about high profile individuals, including Prophet Opambour and Nuumo Gborbu Wulomo Shitse, the Overlord of the Gadangme State led to outrage and demands for an apology which he refused which raised more tensions.
As of now, sports journalist and broadcaster Saddick Adams has been hosting the Angel FM morning show. Afrifa-Mensah’s departure marks a significant change in ABN’s programming, and his next professional endeavor is eagerly anticipated by his audience.
