The Ministry of Education, through the National Teaching Council, is proud to present the Ghana Teacher Prize 2024, an event dedicated to celebrating excellence in teaching. This year’s theme is “Varying Teachers’ Voices Towards a New Social Contract for Education”, highlighting the crucial role of teachers in shaping the future of education.
The 2024 Ghana Teacher Prize will be hosted in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
The event will be graced by His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as the guest of honor. The most outstanding teacher of the year will be awarded a fully furnished three-bedroom apartment, a testament to the value placed on exceptional teachers. The first runner-up will drive home a 4×4 pickup, while the second runner-up will be awarded a sleek saloon car.
In addition to these prestigious awards, the best teacher in leadership and administration, as well as the best non-teaching staff, will each receive a saloon car. The best tutor from a college of education will also be honored with a 4×4 pickup.
There are more exciting rewards, including cash prizes across all categories and fully sponsored scholarships for all award winners. This event promises to recognize and reward the hard work and dedication of teachers from all levels of education.
As part of the celebration, a two-day symposium will be held on the 3rd and 4th of October 2024 at Sunset Hotel in Kumasi, starting at 9:30 a.m. each day. The symposium will provide a platform for teachers to discuss key issues in education and share insights on the future of teaching.
The grand durbar will take place on Saturday, 5th October 2024 at 10 a.m. at the Great Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi. This highly anticipated event will feature the presentation of awards and a celebration of the nation’s finest teachers.
