President John Dramani Mahama has made further changes to his government, reassigning three officials to new roles with immediate effect.
The changes were announced by the Presidency on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, in a statement signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications.
Pelpuo moves to Special Initiatives
Abdul-Rashid Pelpuo, who has been serving as Minister for Labour, Employment and Job Creation, has been reassigned as Minister of State for Special Initiatives.
He will be replaced at the Labour Ministry by Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, who previously served as Minister of State for Special Initiatives.
Brogya Genfi moved from Defence
President Mahama has also reassigned Ernest Brogya Genfi, who served as Deputy Minister for Defence.
Mr Genfi has been appointed Presidential Advisor on National Resilience and Emergency Preparedness. He has been placed within the Presidency, with responsibility focused on issues relating to national resilience and emergency preparedness.
The Changes in Goveernment take immediate effect
According to the Presidency, all the reassignments take immediate effect. The latest changes come shortly after President Mahama announced another set of changes to his government earlier in August.
The Presidency did not give specific reasons for the latest reassignments.
