Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, the Deputy Minister for Education, has assured the Ghana National Association of Private Schools (GNAPS) that concerns raised over the provisional 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results will be given due attention.
Dr. Apaak gave the assurance after receiving a petition from the Association in Accra on behalf of the Education Minister, in their request for an audit and review of the results.
Obenfo Nana Kwasi Gyetuah, the National Executive Director of GNAPS, raised concerns over alleged grading inconsistencies, low pass rates among private school candidates, and instances where some students reportedly received grades for subjects they did not register to write, particularly in the 2026 provisional results released by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
Dr. Apaak said the Ministry would consider the concerns fairly and transparently without prejudging the issues raised.
He stressed the Government’s recognition of the important role private schools play in Ghana’s education system, noting that every Ghanaian child deserves fairness and equity, regardless of whether they attend a public or private school.
He assured the Association that the petition would be forwarded to the Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, Minister for Education, for the necessary action.
