The Minister of Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, has announced that appointment letters will be issued to successful applicants of the 2026 Ghana Education Service (GES) teacher recruitment exercise by Friday, July 24, 2026.

According to the Minister, the announcement was made during the Government Accountability Series, where he provided updates on key developments and interventions within the education sector. He indicated that all applicants who successfully qualified for the teacher recruitment exercise should expect to receive their appointment letters by the announced date.

The Minister further explained that the recruitment process followed the financial clearance granted to the Ministry of Education by the Ministry of Finance to employ up to 7,000 teachers into the Ghana Education Service.

The financial clearance paved the way for the Ministry and the GES to proceed with the recruitment process, which attracted thousands of applications from qualified teacher applicants across the country. Successful applicants are expected to complete the necessary processes after receiving their appointment letters before officially joining the teaching workforce.

The announcement has brought relief and excitement to many applicants who have been eagerly waiting for updates regarding their recruitment status. Many prospective teachers have expressed anticipation as they await the official issuance of their appointment letters.

The recruitment of additional teachers is expected to support teaching and learning across various schools in the country by addressing staffing needs and improving the teacher-to-student ratio in some schools.

Applicants are therefore encouraged to remain alert and keep following GH Educate Media for further updates from the Ghana Education Service regarding the next steps after receiving their appointment letters.
