The Kumawu District Education Directorate has successfully organized an inter-circuit quiz competition and reading festival for Kindergarten (KG), Lower Primary, and Junior High School (JHS) learners across the district.
The two-day event was held on Monday, April 27, 2026, and Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Tweneboa Kodua Senior High School.
During the reading festival segment, KG and Lower Primary learners showcased impressive reading abilities in both English and Asante Twi. Their performances reflected the continuous efforts being made to strengthen foundational literacy among young learners. At the end of the contest, Dadease Salvation “A” Primary School emerged as the winner in the Basic 3 category, having demonstrated exceptional fluency, confidence, and comprehension skills.
The event also featured an inter-circuit quiz competition for JHS students, which covered the four core subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science, and Social Studies. The competition was highly competitive, with participating schools displaying strong academic competence and teamwork throughout the contest.
At the end of the contest, Kumawu Presbyterian JHS emerged as the overall winner, earning recognition for their outstanding performance.
Mr. Kwame Oduro-Owusu, the District Director of Education, in his closing remarks, congratulated all participating schools, especially the winners, for their dedication and hard work. He encouraged the other competing schools to remain determined and continue striving for excellence in future competitions, emphasizing the importance of such academic activities in promoting quality education in the district.
