The Ghana Education Service has officially notified affected applicants to appear before a verification committee over issues relating to discrepancies in their dates of birth. The exercise is being undertaken in collaboration with the Public Services Commission.
According to the circular, the verification process is intended to address cases where requests for correction of date of birth were not approved due to inconsistencies exceeding five years. Applicants involved are expected to provide full clarification and supporting documents.
The exercise will be conducted by a duly constituted committee under the Public Services Commission Ghana, which will examine original documents and interrogate applicants on the identified discrepancies. Officials say the process is necessary to ensure accuracy and integrity in public service records.
The meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, 23rd April, 2026, at 10:00am daily, and will take place at the Public Services Commission Conference Room in Accra. Regional directors have been instructed to notify all affected applicants without delay.
Applicants are required to appear in person with original copies of all supporting documents previously submitted to the Commission. Authorities stress that failure to comply may affect their eligibility and processing status.
The GES has also indicated that this verification exercise forms part of broader efforts to sanitize and regularize personnel data across the education sector. It is expected to strengthen administrative accuracy and reduce future discrepancies.
Further clarification on the exercise can be obtained from the Legal Unit at GES Headquarters, with officials urging all affected persons to comply fully with the directive.
