The Sekyere-Kumawu District Assembly has successfully elected a Presiding Member, marking a key step in strengthening local leadership and governance in the district.
Hon. Richard Gyamfi was re-elected to serve a second term, reflecting the strong confidence Assembly Members have in his leadership and ability to unite the Assembly for development. He also serves as the Assembly Member for the Bodomase Bungalow Electoral Area.

The election, held on Wednesday, 8th April 2026, brings renewed hope for continued progress as the Assembly works to improve the lives of people in the district.
In a congratulatory message, Hon. Akwasi Amankwaa, the District Chief Executive, praised the outcome and expressed optimism about the future.

He said the re-election of Hon. Gyamfi shows trust in his leadership and called on all stakeholders to support him in driving the district’s development agenda. “Under his leadership, the Assembly will continue to work together to promote progress and improve the lives of our people.” – DCE
