Information circulating suggests that the Ghana Education Service (GES) has received concerns regarding the 2025 Teacher Promotion Examination. Many teachers who are due for promotion have expressed uncertainty about whether this year’s promotion aptitude test will be conducted before the end of the year.
Following further checks, it emerged that the GES initially intended for the exercise to slip through without being conducted this year. However, after additional considerations and alleged consultations, a proposed date has been set. The aptitude test is allegedly expected to take place on December 29 and 30.
Teachers are therefore advised to take note and prepare accordingly.
According to information available, about eighty-four thousand (84,000) teachers have been shortlisted for the exercise. Although the proposed date may be inconvenient for many, we encourage all eligible teachers to participate in this important examination.
If the year ends without the aptitude test being conducted, there is a high risk of forfeiting the financial clearance for 2025. Already, two batches are qualified this year, and postponing the exercise to next year may not be favourable for the teachers.
