Non-Professional Teachers in Ghana to Be Upgraded Through Fast-Track PGDE Programme – Registration Ends November 30

Breaking New: The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced a nationwide fast-track Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) programme to upgrade all non-professional teachers to full professional status.

GES confirms that under the Act 1023 of 2020, only professionally licensed teachers will be allowed to practice, making this upgrade essential for all non-professional teachers across public and private schools.

To facilitate the transition, the National Teaching Council has partnered with UCC, UEW, AAMUSTED, and UDS to run a 16–20 week fast-track PGDE programme at a subsidized cost of GH₵5,000 for the entire course.

Additionally, T-TEL, an Non governmental education policy advisors will offer financial support for eligible teachers under age 35.
