The Government of Ghana is expected to present the 2026 Budget Statement and Economic Policy on Thursday, November 13, 2026.
The presentation will be delivered by Hon. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, Minister for Finance, on the floor of Parliament. This annual exercise will outline the government’s key policy priorities, expenditure plans, and revenue measures for the 2026 fiscal year. It also serves as a platform to share a comprehensive overview of Ghana’s economic performance and projections for the coming year.
Various institutions, civil society organizations, and labour unions have already made their appeals to government, urging inclusion of their sectors’ interests in the upcoming budget. The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), Trade Union Congress (TUC), and other professional bodies are particularly calling for improved conditions of service, employment opportunities for the youth, and increased investment in education and healthcare, agriculture, among others.
Ghanaians will be looking for policies that inspire confidence, foster growth, and improve livelihoods.
