Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has publicly applauded the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) leadership and staff in a TikTok live following his release from custody, praising the “good reception” he received during questioning. Multiple clips and recaps of his post-release streams show him expressing gratitude to EOCO officials, including the current acting leadership.
Shatta Wale was detained and questioned this week in Accra as part of a U.S.-linked probe into the origins of his 2019 Lamborghini Urus. EOCO said he voluntarily appeared for questioning and was released on bail the next day, with his lawyers pledging full cooperation. The case forms part of a wider U.S. investigation into proceeds from a $4 million fraud scheme.
In his live sessions, Shatta Wale also thanked fans who gathered outside EOCO and urged calm as the legal process continues. “One Don is safe,” he told viewers, promising to keep supporters updated while the authorities complete their inquiries.
