This donation is part of SIC Insurance PLC’s initiative, One Needy Student, One Laptop (SONSOL), which aims to support financially challenged students of KNUST.
The objective of the project is to provide laptops to disadvantaged students to help bridge the digital divide and empower them with the necessary tools for academic success. Launched in 2020, the SONSOL initiative continues to impact lives positively.
The Managing Director of SIC Insurance PLC, Mr. James Agyenim-Boateng, led a team of senior managers to donate the laptops in Kumasi, fulfilling the company’s commitment to supporting the 2025 SONSOL Project.
In a brief address on behalf of the Board, Management, and Staff of SIC Insurance PLC, Mr. Agyenim-Boateng expressed appreciation to the leadership of KNUST for the vision behind the SONSOL initiative.
“Your commitment to promoting equal access to education is not only commendable but deeply aligned with our own values as a corporate institution,” he said.
The Vice-Chancellor of KNUST, Professor Rita Akosua Dickson, received the laptops and expressed her gratitude to the Managing Director and his team for SIC Insurance PLC’s continued support of the University.
