St. Stephen Catholic Church Bodomase Marks Father’s Day with Joyful Celebration on Holy Trinity Sunday

St. Stephen Catholic Church in Bodomase, under the Catholic Diocese of Konongo-Mampong, honoured fathers with a vibrant celebration on Sunday, 15th June 2025. The occasion, which coincided with Holy Trinity Sunday, was marked with gratitude, reflection, and joyful fellowship.

The event began on Saturday with a community health walk involving fathers and parishioners.

On Sunday morning, fathers were offered free health screenings before a special Thanksgiving Mass was held in their honour.

The homily was delivered by Brother Samuel Yeboah, a Pastoral Year Seminarian from St. Peter’s Regional Seminary in Cape Coast. He commended fathers for their sacrifices, leadership, and influence on their families, urging them to lead with integrity and unity, just as reflected in the Holy Trinity.

“Fathers shape the values and future of their children. They must leave behind a legacy of love, discipline, and honour,” he said.

The Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Peter Kusi Twumasi, offered a prayer for all fathers, asking for divine strength, wisdom, and protection to help them guide their families and raise responsible future leaders.

After the Holy Mass, the celebration continued with music, dancing, and shared meals.

Recreational activities including a penalty shootout, Bible games, a water-apple eating contest, and a jersey parade brought energy and excitement to the event.

Some Parishioners represented their favourite football teams, adding colour and fun to the occasion.

The parish described the event as a meaningful tribute to fatherhood and a reminder of the central role fathers play in family life and faith communities.
